A.G.G.E. is an expert institution in geriatrics and gerontology, established as an association under Swiss law. It addresses the ageing, elderly or end-of-life person as a whole, without limiting itself to medical aspects.
Its body of best practices covers medical and psychological needs, but also the management of facilities, procurement, architecture, nutrition and safety — from simple home meal delivery to the organisation of institutions caring for heavily dependent residents.

A college of permanent experts, supported by external experts when needed, dynamically develops and updates the full set of best-practice rules in geriatrics, gerontology and related fields.

The A.G.G.E. label certifies that a facility, a training programme or a diploma meets the association’s specifications. It is awarded by the college of experts on the basis of an audit report.

The association pursues no financial objective, in order to remain free from private-sector pressure. The label belongs to no one: it is managed by the association, in Switzerland.
